Whats The Difference Between Windows Web Hosting And Linux Web Hosting ..& Which One Is More Better ?

  1. Linux – less used/abused OS that tends to be more secure only in that it is frequently less targeted than a windows box. While that isn’t the only reason, it is a major contributor. This is also free to install and use at your own will. This is a good choice for hosting several language types i.e. php, perl, ruby, j2ee etc.
    Windows – Costs a good bit to run and is prone to every crazy hacker out there. However, it’s a better choice to host your asp.net apps on this environment using IIS.

  2. Linux is free, Windows costs $$. So the ISP’s tend to give better deals on Linux. Linux also has a lower overhead in terms of storage, memory and CPU use.

  3. I think Linux is better. Apache is the server you want.

  4. Linux servers are far more secure. Uncrackable if the server operator knows what he’s doing
